“Wonderful little paradise in paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

We found this place by recommendation of a friend. He told us that the service is wonderful and it is in the 'Top Five' in trip advisor. Well, after our experience there for three days, it rightfully deserves to be in the 'Top Five'. Karen, a German ex-pat, has done very well. She has put a lot of love into the hotel and it shows. From the rooftop dining area that gives a 360 degree view of Pokhara and a stunning view of the 8thousanders to the beautiful coffee drinks, Karen has done right. She has also employed a wonderful wait staff who are very attentive and caring. The rooms are very comfortable. As a footnote, my partner has an awful fear of spiders and our rooms were spider free! We were assured that if there were to be a spider in our room that a staff member would return it to its home outside. Let's put it this way: happy wife, happy life. No spiders, happy wife:)

As in terms of location, it is off the main strip which makes for very good sleeping conditions. But, it is close enough where one can walk everywhere without a taxi. Karen is very good at giving suggestions of local restaurants and drinking holes. The hotel also offers a range of tours and activities that can be arranged through the hotel, i.e. Fair-trade coffee plantation tour, para-gliding, bike rentals, etc.

Go to Hotel Mount Fuji and enjoy life:)

Namaste.

Firstly, we apologise that it has taken so long for us to write this review, we completely forgot that we hadn't written it already. We stayed in Mount Fuji for almost 6 weeks in total during March and April, since it was such a homely, welcoming and clean place. Thankfully we moved to Hotel Mount Fuji after a having stayed in a very dirty place elsewhere in Pokhara. Mount Fuji was a breath of fresh air compared to other places we had seen and stayed in Nepal. Most importantly it was very clean and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Karen couldn't have made our stay any better and even after 6 weeks of staying there she maintained the same high standards as she set at the start of our stay. Karen was a wealth of interesting information regarding local sights and treks and always more than willing to share her advice.

The rates were very reasonable and the food was great, a nice touch was all sitting down to eat together for the evening meal (only if you want to though). Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a clean, friendly and homely place in Pokhara. We felt like part of the 'Mount Fuji' family and were sad to leave.

My wife and I especially enjoyed the coffee farm trek that Karen (manager) took us on. Bit of a tough walk up the mountain but worth it! Excellent views, great company, and an overall wonderful experience. The process of helping make our own coffee (the traditional way)! meeting/eating lunch with the farmer's family (kid's are great), and enjoying the stunning views was an outstanding experience.
Had a great time at the hotel as well, staff was happy and very helpful. Would go back to this hotel on another trip to Pokhara.

We stayed at Mount Fuji for just under a week...and enjoyed every single moment! The hotel is well run and staff extremely friendly. Rooms are clean, spacious and the water warm!!! Great stay in Lake Side area, and would highly recommend to any traveler. Sitting on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Fish Tail is truly spectacular.

Karen (the manager) was very helpful and recommended some great places to eat! After more than a month on a veg diet in India the steaks at nearby New Mount Everest Steak House was a welcome blessing!

We spendt more than a week in Mt Fuji and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Theres a nice rooftop over several levels, where we spendt halv of our time in the hammocks, enjoying Karens excellent coffee and watching the paragliders. Really good choice.

Location is good, down a side street so fairley quiet. Rooms are clean, if you want a warm shower you will need to ask the staff and they will open a tank for you. The matresses are VERY hard - even by nepal standards - but they have softer ones in some of the rooms. The staff were polite and helpfull and Karen has a put together a selection of tours for here guests. The roof top views are great.

The breakfasts were fine but my husband wanted to try somewhere else, as we were leaving Karen followed us out and told us that she had already prepared the breakfast and we must tell her the night before if we didn't want it (we felt a little bit like naughty children!). The hotel was fine but I'd try somewhere else next time.

Room Tip: There's one room on the roof... don't choose this one as you'll get woken up by the staf...

the only lack of this little place is the missing website, but Karen's blog is still nice.

Location is great in a small street, away from the noisy lakeside street. if you stay out late, don't forget a torch. clean, space rooms, nice bathrooms, and a lovely view from the mountains on the roof top.

karen is doing the best to let it be your best stay, habe a look at the tours they are offering, good value for sure. she can organise a trip to Sangrokot, which will only be happen if its worth to go.

maybe a more expensive then others but try out for yourseld.

Room Tip: Second level rooms
