“Home from home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

I stayed here for around 8 nights in total at different stages of my trip. I found the rooms to be clean and the beds very comfy!

The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly - I had contracted a nasty GI infection (elsewhere!) - and came back to hotel grand holiday so I could see a doctor in Pokhara. The hotel staff were amazingly kind - organising to visit the doctor, paying for my antibiotics up front (I ran out of cash!), helping me call my mum - and making sure I kept up the oral rehydration !! I recovered fairly quickly, but will never forget how well I was looked after (just what you need if you get sick and you're on your own so far away from home!).

The food is good here too, and I found the restaurant to be sociable if you are travelling solo. The staff can organise treks and activities no problem ! (inexpensively!)
Location is excellent - pretty much on the main strip by the lake, but at the quieter end away from noisy clubs etc. Beautiful views of the Anapurna range too.

Id recommend this hotel to anybody - while I was there it was pretty busy with families with young children, solo travellers, volunteers, couples ! Very friendly place, cant wait to return

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room! Nothing like breakfast on the terrace

We stayed for 3 nights and had a great stay. The room was clean and spacious, with a beautiful mountain view room. We were on the top floor (not the roof) and had a nice corner room. The included breakfast was good, though we didn't eat any other meals here. Hotel is in a great location - walkable to Phewa lake and the main street and great views of the Annapurnas. Staff is friendly and helpful and the wifi works great in the lobby. We were told it will be working throughout the hotel in the 'next day or two" upon our check-in, but it wasn't. Definitely head up to the roof at sunset and admire the views!

Room Tip: Pay for a mountain view - it is worth it to wake up and see them

Got a beautiful room with a beautiful view of the mountains and a big balcony,
Booked a paragliding tour with the hotel as it was cheaper than booking directly with the company. Loved the staff - they sorted out a problem we were having with the agent we booked with and kept phoning them until they answered - even ensuring that our hotel in Kathmandu was changed as we didn't want to stay with the hotel associated with the agent again :) So so helpful - really enjoyed the stay

The rooms are affordable yet quite spacious. We booked a triple room that came with two single beds and one double bed. The price was very reasonable for such a room. The hotel itself is located near Phewa lake and offers great views of the Annapurnas from the balconies and from the rooftop restaurant. The manager, Ramesh is friendly and helpful in booking city tours and activities. The rooms are clean but the beds are not that comfortable. The food served here is quite expensive and not as good as what you'd get in separate restaurants. Overall, it's a nice place to rest after touring Pokhara. Don't miss having a beer in the evening at the rooftop restaurant while watching the majestic snow-capped Annapurnas.

We stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Grand Holiday, and it was easily worth it. Most importantly it was clean, and Janak (the boss) is a really nice, and friendly guy. Upon arriving at 9:00am from Kathmandu, he presented us with a couple of ice cold beers 'on the house,' which was obviously a great start. Throughout the stay he was courteous, and even went out of his way to get hold of some of the local moonshine (Raksy) for us. This personal attention alone was worth the stay.

The garden is a really nice place to chill out after a day wondering around Pokhara, and from the rooftop you get stunning views of the hills surrounding the city, and the Annapurna mountain range. It's a truly magnificent view.

I miss the place, and will be travelling back to Pokhara in March next year. Kept in touch with Janak, and will be great to see him and the staff again. What lovely people the Nepalese are.

We were so lucky to find this hotel whilst we were actually looking for another one, but what a lucky find! The rooms are very clean with everything we needed & the views were amazing, views of the lake and the snow capped annapurna mountain range (when not covered in snow). The staff were exceptional. They helped us with transport bookings & general information about the area. Would highly recommend staying at the Hotel Grand Holiday.

Room Tip: Room 224 had great view of lake and mountaints

The staff was very friendly, specially Mr. Janak(Managing Director), Mr.Ramesh(Receptionist) and even the chef and all the ohter staff. They always look for the needs of the customers. They even helped a lot for our trips and where to find things. Eventhough it's a budget hotel the treatment and the service is better than a five star hotel standard. Even the price is very reasonable.
