“Best of the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2010

It was our first holiday in Nepal. We found such a nice hotel in Kathmandu which had a complete solution. We had very good stay in hotel blue horizon. We got an accommodation at the new buildings just next to the garden. The garden is beautiful. We got all the time hot water with proper shower (strong shower). Very comfortable beads with modern facilities like Wi-Fi in the room with free of cost. We did not bought sleeping bag but we got a blanket which was nice and worm, clean.
We got a good deal for our complete holiday tours from the hotel man which was perfect. We had 10 days trekking holidays and 3 days Chitwan safari. It was great ad we had lots of fun. Thank gos to the Hotel and its management.

Best staff. Comfortable rooms....some smaller than others. Good food...especially french fries! Clean. New garden is beautiful and a lovely place to hang out with friends or just read with a cup of coffee or a beer. Close to the shopping of Thamel. Multi- national guests which makes for interesting new acquaintances. Haven't stayed in the new building but this was my 4th year in the old building and I think of it as "home"! I love coming back and I shall for as long as I am visiting Kathmandu.

I have stayed at the Hotel Blue Horizon, which is on the edge of the popular Thamel area in Kathmandu, for one or two weeks every year since 2005. The hotel is located at the end of a little lane off the major thoroughfare through Thamel, so although it's close to everything, it offers a quiet oasis where you can relax (the street dogs do bark at night, but that's not something the hotel can fix). This year, the hotel added more rooms and a lovely shady garden area. The management and staff are very friendly and exceedingly helpful, attending to every request with a smile. I also booked a trek this year through Nepal Vision Treks, which is connected to the Hotel Blue Horizon, but I approached them rather than the other way around. My friends and I did a 12-day trek to Annapurna Base Camp and cannot speak highly enough of the company or of the adventure we had. The manager of the trekking company was very knowledgeable and worked with us to design a trekking itinerary which took into account our interests and available time. The guide and his team of porters were exceptionally professional, and did everything possible to make our trek as easy and fun and memorable as it could possibly be. The guide's attention to detail was amazing, and his team's care and concern for us was evident every step of the way. I highly recommend the Hotel Blue Horizon for a stay in Kathmandu, and Nepal Vision Treks for any trekking activity in the region.

This place is off the crazy Thamel Street by 2 minutes. It is a Gem. Arrived here from India and what an oasis. Free airport pickup, friendly service, clean rooms, free Wi-Fi, great breakfast served on the garden. Nice deluxe room for $30... Highly, highly recommend this place. It's so much better than in India which I had paid similar price but less value. Just stay there.

I would like to drop some words here about Hotel Blue Horizon, the great hotel with perfect location. It has everything inside the hotel. There are few computers where any one inhouse guest can use for free of cost. The room is very clean and best value. The garden is very nice and some tables where we had food there with the views. I must tell to my friends who go to Nepal to stay this hotel

Thank you Blue Horizon.
See you in few months.

I Had planed to stay 1 night and drive to Kathmandu but once i stayed there, i could not leave this hotel due to free WI-FI, balcony, roof top garden and great mini bar with lovely restaurant. I stayed there for 3 nights first and again after Pokhara trip i had stayed 3 more nights and i flu to Varanasi. This is great hotel.

I and my husband had stayed at Hotel Blue Horizon for 3 Nights. It was very nice stay with their warm hospitality. Hotel Blue Horizon has very nice roof top with the great views of surrounding areas and also snow covered mountains. Rooms were very clean and always ask to clean the room if necessary. I found very friendly manager in this hotel who always smiles. We had a tour to Nagarkot with a driver from the hotel which was very nice though it was very early morning drive for Sunrise from Nagarkot tower.

This is a great hotel and best with the location. Thanks Hotel Blue Horizon.
