In a way you could say this cafe destroyed our eating experience in Kathmandu, as the food and service was so good we stopped exploring other eateries (though to be fair we'd worked our way through a lot by the time we'd discovered Black Olives). We ate many dinners here and breakfast everyday for over a week. The food is reasonably priced, tastes outstanding and there is a good variety of dishes to choose from. Although, for breakfast I got stuck on the Mexican breakfast (I know there is a behavior pattern developing here!!!). This is a hugh stack of beans in a delicious tomatoe sauce, with egg, on cornbread - this dish, as described by my girlfriend, being a man's breakfast! All the guys working at the restaurant are genuinely friendly and provide great service. The cafe is set in a lovely courtyard, so you can temporarily escape from the chaos of Thamel. At night it is candlelit and has great ambience, especially when live music is being played (the house band are a great bunch of musicians). This is the best place in Thamel to eat mid-priced food.
