“good place with great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

The staff at this hotel are very charming. I liked the location because it was near Thamel and Durbar Square. The balcony rooms have good views of the neighbourhood. The rooms are a good size but plumbing and other functions are a bit dilapidated as is common in Nepal. Hard beds :-)

I stayed in this hotel for two nights as part of a tour group with 'Intrepid', I didn't like this hotel at all , the location is out of the main Thamel area and our room was very basic, threadbare carpet, no flyscreens , and awful bathroom, Positives - it did have Wifi and the restaurant was Ok

My flight arrived late and the gentleman on the 24 hour reception desk was wonderful. The rooms aren't heated so ask for extra blankets. My luggage was lost on arrival and the Kathmandu Prince did everything in their power to ensure that my stay was still great and they were so helpful in trying to assist with locating my luggage. They have a lovely restaurant on the ground floor and make a pretty good pot of milk coffee too.

Room Tip: No lifts so ask for a room on the bottom levels...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

The hotel is good value, nice clean room and bathroom and a tv with some satellite channels. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Tired after a 15 hour flight I got to the hotel to a warm greeting and ordered some food to be delivered room service which was nice and freshly cooked, perfect introduction to Nepal. The friendly staff is what sets the hotel apart. On my bus back to Kathmandu after the trek I picked up food poisoning from the lunch stop... by the time I got to the hotel I was feeling terrible, shaking and throwing up every 10 minutes. I went down to reception and they were very helpful in advising of the best hospital to go to and they called ahead to the hospital, explained the situation and arranged me an appointment at 6pm on a Saturday night! No mean feat in Nepal! When you feel as I did and with only 12 hours until my flight I was so glad the staff were able to arrange this for me. Because I was travelling alone the hotel sent a staff member with me to the hospital who could speak English. She was lovely and friendly and it was nice and reassuring to have someone there, especially when you feel so bad as I did. This was really beyond what most other hotels would do and I really am so grateful to the staff for all their help. I recommend everyone to stay here when in Kathmandu. :)

Clean room, quiet location, friendly staff, small but wonderful garden etc etc. Price is better than other similar category hotel. Our group were more than happy to stay there and I for sure would recommend it to anybody.
