Booked in to Trekkers Home in November 2013 after reading rave reviews. Accomodation was just OK, hotel is near to a couple of places that play very loud live music until around midnight. Makes it really hard to get a good nights sleep. Also, hot water is not reliable. When the hot water storage tank gets low you end up having a shower in dirty and a little smelly water. Not too nice. We stayed 3 nights prior to trekking and had planned another 4 nights when we got back. After our first night on return we checked out due to noise and hot water issues. Found a nice hotel around 5 minutes walk away ina quiet side street. Rooms cleaner, reliable hot water, much nicer linen and a roof top garden, all for a cheaper price than Trekkers Home.

This hostel was super. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. We were centrally located for all the major sites. The staff are very friendly and worked very hard to prepare our onward travel and trek from pokhara. A great place, with all amenities and attractions in walking distance.

Trekkers Home is a great place to stay whilst in Nepal. Right in the centre of Thamel it is very close to many restaurants and tourist areas like Monkey Temple and Durbar Square. Look out for the hotel manager Dib, he is extremely helpful with whatever you may need. Had a great time there.

For the relative cheapness of this accommodation it has fantastic facilities and it is in the heart of Thamel. The staff are very welcoming and the manager "Dip" as we knew him gave us the best he could give whether it be exchange rates or prices for our rooms, he was highly accommodating and a fantastic host. Aside from the hotel itself, the location was incredible and I assure you as fellow travelers we all know how important location is, it is in the the middle of a main shopping, eating and relaxing road in Thamel.

Overall it was an incredible hotel, the only negative would be that it is not a luxury but quaint and slightly rundown.

The staff at Trekkers Home is what makes the place entirely worth it. Dipendra, co-owner, made our stay extremely pleasant and easy. We booked some other sightseeing and short treks through him and we were never let down. He arranged all transportation and it was always reliable.

The hotel itself is older compared to some other places in Thamel so if you can handle the run down bathroom facilities then there would be no problem, and we always had hot water. The price of the room is slightly higher than some other options, but I doubt those other places have such a great staff.

Next time we visit Kathmandu, we will definitely book a stay with Trekkers Home.

The staff in the hotel were very friendly, and it is 'one stop shop' to organise for everything in Kathmandu. Dipendra (Dip) is the hotel manager who is a 'goto' man. When we arrived at the hotel,we did not have any plans. Dip organised the entire trip which include car for 6 days with driver, 2 nights 3 days package in Chitwan, 2 days in Pokara, 2 days in Kathmandu, help in currency exchange, etc. He was also flexible to change our plan to do white water rafting in Trisul river, the rafting was excellent as they had experienced guide to take us. Our overall trip to Kathmandu was very happy one as we had covered more than what we could have been. The warm help provided by Dip, the friendly driver who was with us for the entire trip, the very friendly white water rafting guide, the hotel manager Ajay in Pokhara - all were very genuine, reasonable, honesty people, we are really blessed to meet them and we recommend very highly.
