“Loved this hotel! Cannot wait to return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012 via mobile

I visited gokarna in July 2012 with a friend. I spent 12 nights here and enjoyed every minute. A place of total relaxation and tranquility. Being amongst nature, the wild monkeys and wildlife was amazing. I seriously have no complaints. If anyone is thinking of gokarna for a peaceful getaway, and away from the hustle and bustle of kathmandu, this place is IT.....I have visited Nepal 3x within past year and I just love the country! What also made our stay even better was the friendliness, smiles and hospitality of the lovely staff. I look forward to seeing you all again real soon :) Namaste.....Fiona

Went there in Feb 12,for our honeymoon...amazing property...outside the chaotic kathmandu...it was a amazing trip post the hectic marriage rituals...this was exactly what doctored ordered..chillax..the service was amazing,we felt at home from the day 1,thanks to the whole staff..from booking flight tickets to pokhara, hotel stay ,everything was handled so smoothly tat i was wow'd ..breakfast was superb, though I would like to get some more menu added to the their ala carte .... The golf view restaurant was breathtaking...can spend half your day there..real cool place, we got ourselves a special spa treatment there..it was really amazing..i loved it so much...alas i did it on the last day,so there was no chance of going back to the spa 2nd time..it was so rejuvinating.. over a big thumbs up for the property but the best part of the resort is their staff..totally rocking !!!!

Room Tip: There are cottages, try to get those, you get a very good jungle view...

A bit expensive but a really good service since we have been upgraded from a deluxe room to a suite. Very nice room, relaxing massage, good food and nice environement.

Unfortunately, it's very far from everything so no choice than take a cab to go around.
Our very last day in Nepal, we wanted to go back to Bodnath. We reserved a cab the day before but on the morning, the girls at the reception said there was a strike so no cab for us...
They were just able to drive us to the airport... When we double checked no one was aware of this strange strike...
We think they wanted us to stay the whole day so we could pay for massage, golf or whatever....

The service is really good. The staffs always answer your questions with smiles. They helped me to contact the other local service providers in Nepal Language. Without their help, I could not manage my other trips in Nepal.

It is a peacefull place away from the Kathmandu Metro. We have great funs to play in the yard and watch the rabbits. The golf course are good and with good price.

Nice and lucky to stay in Gokarna Forest Resort. Good place kept in my memory and my family alubum.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the yard will be good choice

This resort is set up on a hillside about 8 km outside of Kathmandu. It is part of a forest reserve and there is a golf course attached. It is a lovely setting and the staff are amazing and helpful. The monkeys are entertaining but don't open your windows for too long! I would like to especially commend Lasta and Neela at the front desk - they are friendly, helpful and very professional. Deepak in the bar was always attentive, remembering what we enjoyed for beverages and making us feel very comfortable and relaxed. The spa was very pleasant and the golf course enjoyable. We found the breakfast and dinner buffet to be quite good but the food at the golf course was just average.

We only stayed here by default as our hosts usual hotel was fully booked so we were lucky enough to be booked in here for 3 nights. The reception was very good and efficient and we were shown to a very spacious room in one of the garden blocks. It is a very beautiful location with lots of wildlife in the surrounding forests. Every day troops of monkeys could be seen climbing over the roof top and playing on the lawns. The security guards seem to be mostly employed to deter the monkeys from getting too close to the guests and are armed with catapults for this purpose!
We ate from the buffet menu and a request for a fish curry was immediately met with no extra cost. The waiting staff and the bar staff were excellent.
We were there for business and unfortunately didn't have the time to benefit from the facilities and guided walks on offer, but over-all found the hotel to be very good.

I stayed in Gokarna forest resort in Kathmandu. This is truly a paradise in Thali, Kathmandu. As always, I have been very particular with regards to the selection of appropriate hotels for my stay. This time I had to stay with my family, so I was more concerned and tried to go through different reviews posted on the forum for the selection of best hotels.
Right from reservation till check out, the stay was nothing but pleasure. I contacted the hotel directly for reservation and Mr. Divas Shrestha was very efficient to respond and confirm the reservations through email.
Gokarna forest hotel has around 90 rooms. I selected deluxe room which is good value for money. The room has antique look but modern furniture with wooden flooring. The rest room is very clean and stylish.
The hotel staff is very co-operative here at Gokarna. Ms. Lasta Kibanayo, guest relations officer is very popular amongst guests as she tries her best to guide the guests to the best of her abilities. At the time of check-in, Ms. Lasta showed each and every part of the hotel to us and explained about different available facilities. The garden here is awesome and kids had a great time playing.
Food served is also very tasty. I would recommend beef steak at Club House Restaurant.
Massage at Gokarna spa is also great and very relaxing. Charges are also reasonable.
In short, I can recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to play golf and stay in total peace & tranquility.

Room Tip: Deluxe Room or Suite Room
