Amazing guest house, so good its my first review and I'm making an effort to actually write a review cause it was so cool! Ashok and Katrin are sooo lovely, and butterscotch their dog! Its very clean, modern and tidy breakfast included was yum fresh warm breads from the bakery over the road, eggs, good coffee mmmmmm. They will honestly help organise stuff for you without trying to rip you off Ashok is from Nepal so he knows stuff, also taxi's and directions. Its was 400-500 to airport from there. Its in Patan which isn't busy thamel, but can get a taxi to wherever for cheap,I think Patan is more expats so you see a different bit of town. there is the durbar square which you can walk to,which is maybe better than the Katmandu one, the afternoon light is great and the people are so photogenic! its about 10mins walk also if you just walk straight (Katrin told me) from the end of the street you go through old awsome little lanes, great for photography and I was a solo female and felt safe and sound. The nepalese are SO cute and nice! well I had no dramas...... Was my last fews days after 2 months in India, so I was just chilling but other people had scenic flights, walks organised for them which sounded great. Also my friend who told me to stay there said when she was there they held a garage sale there to raise $$$ for the animal welfare place, NICE! and organised for whoever wanted to go see a ex street kids circus (i think) and took her to an amazing local restaurant on the way. When I was there it was holi festival which we had a little pre party on the Balcony which was way fun!! (I was solo but made friends) Felt a bit sorry for their house getting colourful but all was cleaned up, then taxied into square for the full on holi and boy was it full on!!!!!!! but fun!!, then they organised and cooked a beautiful night BBQ for everyone. Was so nice of them, it seemed like there was always something happening. 2 more things sorry this is getting long! 1-book early it fills up quick!!!!! I was lucky to get in. 2) if you need last minute shopping there are cool like support locals fair-trade type shops down the street, and a cool bamboo\hemp t-shirt with cool designs shop(bit more expensive like $10).They are on the main street downhill towards bridge. AND the bookshop 30 m from @ome. the guy was lovely in there, and they have cool handmade paper stuff. Nepals AMAZING and was a GREAT last place to stay. top rated! thank you so much for the wonderful stay x big ups x p.s sorry about the long'ness of this review! Oh yeah and the washing is sweet and your clothes actually come back clean! and theres yoga on the roof.
