“kumari”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

it is very nice place to visit Kumari for your a day sight seeing, this is historical palace, kumari house, old museum, shiva and bishnu temples,
to see the kumari you have to be here before 2 pm, after 2 Pm she doesn't come out because of her study time and pray times,
Himal,

“We got blessed by the girl god”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

Interesting building--very oriental with a courtyard. We were there just as the kumari (the living goddess) appeared on the balcony and blessed us. Quite an interesting religious practice where they take a young girl and make her a goddess until she reaches puberty.

“Poor Girl!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Kumari made her very brief daily visit to the window where she simply looked at the crowd below and then departed. The poor thing leads a very lonely life, not of her own choice, but by the demands of her culture.

“Pay for the guide”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

We visited here twice, did NOT get to see the Kumari but the coolness of the inner sanctum was lovely. first time was on our own, second time we had a guide for an hour. think we paid a few hundred - absolutely worth it. Lots of markets nearby but prices should be around 60% of starting price, stand firm, they will sell.
