“Good for Kathmandu standards”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2011

Myself and my partner stayed here for 5 nights.

On the first two nights we were given room 211 on level two. The view was terrible and there were many bugs coming out from cracks in the floor. However when we returned to the hotel a few days later we were given room 420 on the fourth floor facing the other direction. The view was wonderful and there were no issues with bugs entering into the room. The only downfall was that the shower head didn't work properly, the shower tap fell off and the tv quality was not great.

Whilst the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of food not all the options were always available, maybe as our visit was during peak season and there were many people eating. Dinner and lunch was over priced, particularly in comparison to the quality and price of food in Thamel.

The hotel has a great free wifi system for those staying. However whilst i was waiting in the lobby (as I had a late flight out of Kathmandu), I asked the lady at the reception desk for a wifi card whilst I was waiting for my airport transfer, she informed me politely but with great disdain that it is not hotel policy to give out wifi coupons after checking out, however, she would give me one on this occasion.

Whilst half of the staff here are wonderful and helpful, the other half treat you with disdain.

Overall this hotel is nice by Kathmandu standards, however, the quality of its food, rooms and appliances may not meet some western standards. It is in close proximity to Thamel which is convenient.

Whilst our stay was ok on average I may try and stay elsewhere if I visit Kathmandu again.

By Kathmandu standards, it's near the top of the heap. By international standards, it's at best a middling option. Decent rooms, nothing ever quite perfect. Staff shows a pleasing level of disdain for guests. Breakfast buffet high quality. The Corner Bar is an fantastic little place for a drink, with staff who are simply outstanding.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2011

I am just ending my second stay of several weeks at the Radisson Kathmandu between July and September 2011. On both occasions, it has been very friendly, efficient and most of all I truly relished the fabulous cuisine in the Olive Garden, and the entirely decent cuisine in the "Fun Cafe". The staff go out of their way to listen to the customers and be helpful. But the highlight of every evening after a long day's work was to sit in the Olive Garden restaurant and enjoy Rupak's world class cuisine. Rupak goes out of his way to prepare imaginative, beautifully presented, well coordinated and exquisitely tasty dinners that would hold their own compared to any first-class restaurant in Europe or North America. Very highly recommended.

It has everything you'd expect from a 5 star hotel, but it seems to be lacking something. Is it the foyer that echoes so loudly, or the not so good Olive Restaurant, the low water pressure, the hideously expensive wifi or the tiny pool and gym? It feels like it caters to people who aren't familiar with 5 star hotels. It is still OK though, and a good place to land after a trek and still walking distance to Thamel.

It was a routine business trip where i had to stay in Radisson Nepal for about 3 days & the stay was superb where one need to under go the hospitality offered.

I was completly satisfied from the reception desk to the check out procedure & i recommend people i know not to miss this experience .

During the time i went this was post winter & the atmosphere was well defined to stay around.

Even i should not forget to appertiate the staff for their wonderful service.

Thanks to all.

Stayed for one night only......so couldn't experience much... but was good. the best part was the Casino expereince, but the tables were less for players to play. I wish they had more tables & proper attendees. The night club was good......the room is ok but bath room was small. i took the room with out carpet which is ok.

the breakfast had good choice. the hotel is the in the central location. i didnot see any taxis standing out, overall Taxi service & Casino improvement will be valuable if they improve bit more.....

Room Tip: ask for rooms without carpet & with higher floors

1) Location - Next to Thamel - Main advantage
2) Hotel - New building construction ha penning, hence the front view was not good...got the room changed to rear view room.
3) Superior room - Was upgraded to deluxe room, which was on a lower floor and hence asked to give me the superior room which is on the above floors, and hence better views.
4) Breakfast was very good.
5) Casino - being an operational casino, it was good time pass in the evenings.
6) I have stayed in Hyatt and Soaltee before - I Recommend those are much better than Radisson.
