A clean and tidy place to stay, The staff and owner are all lovely and make you feel welcomed all the time. It is centraly located in thamel and was my home away from home whist i was traveling in nepal, ramro cha .

Room Tip: higher the leveles the better the balcony's top level was my favourite.

Always nice to come back to. Very friendly staff and always willing to help. Everything you need is there in the middle of Thamel. Hot showers when there is power, a must after a while without! Clean rooms and a good price. Great place!

I have stayed at this hotel several times, but during my last stay I decided to change hotels, the reason being that it was very noisy and difficult to sleep. My room was near the front lobby, and there was noise from the TV that would start VERY early in the morning (about 4:30am)! But the bigger problem was that my room was in the front of the building, and the street noise was a real problem (horns, blasting music, and lots of dogs)...

Other than that, the rooms were marginal. Mattresses and pillows were both very hard, and not comfortable. The bathroom was very grungy, although they did have reliable hot water (except for one day). Twice I ran into large (1.5 inch) roaches!!

Staff was very nice and helpful.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in back -- quieter, since not facing the road

I first came to Karma hotel on 2009, and from that year i´ve been going back again every summer, feeling like i´m back home, mostly becouse of the lovely and kind stuff on the reception and cause most of the times I have the same room. it´s a great place to stay in Thamel. Is near everything, but not just in the middle of the noisy and caothic center of Thamel. Is not like beeing in a relax hymalayan mountain, but the live-music bars are far enough for not disturb your sleep... I completely recomend this "home".. The rooms are big, all with windows and some with terrace. The beds are clean and comfortable. The toilets are also clean, and i´ve never had problem with hot water (in other guest houses is difficult to find the correct time for having a real hot shower) They have free internet acces when the computer is "free", that is most of the time. The connection is pretty fast for Nepal style... Laundry service and store service is also available, always with the smile of the stuff in there. There are 3 terraces on the second floor(small one), on the third floor (big one) , and the biggest on the fourth floor that are great for taking breackfast early in the morning or a beer on the evening. No problem for coming back little bit late from some bar, restaurant or shopping; the door will be closed but there is always someone sleeping on the reception that will open the door for us. So yes, if you are in Thamel looking for a reasonable price room, clean, with good stuff and service and near everywhere I completly recomend Karma travellers home. Juan

I stay here every time I come to Nepal. It's home. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. There's no generator so when there is a power cut it goes dark and silent, but at least you don't have the rattle of a generator to annoy you. Make sure you get the powercut schedule from reception so you know when to recharge things! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. Great place.

I have been recommanded this hotel by several volunteers who I work with and who come here over the years. It offers a range of prices. I stayed in one of the cheap rooms, it was nice and clean with ensuite bathroom with hot water and free internet acces and wi-fi. I felt at home as the staff is really friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, it's 100m away from the main shops ands cafes, in a quiet street.
