Beautiful Old palace turn into a Restaurant well preserve of Old Days By Showing the Wonderful Cultural Programs , Nice Traditional Siting Dining, Mouth Watering Full Course Serving with local Drinks . Due To many Big Tour Groups Some times bit Noisy But Please Do not Forget to Make Reservation even Going there Individually, i found Nepali Foods Served Here were very Higenic & Staff Are Personalized polite & Friendly . Location was nt that Easy But Ask Your Cab driver They can Easily Find it Loved The Food At Bhojan Griha.

“Touristy, authentic but fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2011

Set in a magnificently restored old Rana building, in a back street of Dili Bazaar, far from the tourist crowds. The building alone is worth the visit, but the food is high quality if far too plentiful - it seems to never end, and very reasonably priced when compared to many other 'ethnic nepal experience ' restaurants in Kathmandu. The entertainment is fun and not obtrusive. Good place to take visitors to Kathmandu.

“As Nepalese would say "Typical Nepali"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

As a person of Nepali origin I decided to go and check out this restaurant on my last trip to Nepal. I had heard about it from some of my friends – supposedly one of the most authentic and high end Nepali dining place in KTM. The restaurant is in a very unassuming location in “Dilli Bazar” in what appeares to be a residential area. Later I learned that the restaurant which sits on this four story huge traditional Nepali building, some 150 years old, was once the residence of a former royal priest. You can get there from Thamel or any point in valley for that matter in 15-20 mins flat, traffic permitting – since KTM is not all that big. The décor and ambiance is very traditional. Food can be probably rated as above average for a Nepali taste and quite an authentic experience for a foreigner. You sit on the floor with low tables for dining. You can order all you can eat course meal or else you can go with the appetizers and drinks. Complementary home made alcohol served in shot size brass bowl is not to be missed – once twice or three times.

They pledge to be socially and environmentally responsible, whatever that entails, and supposedly insist on using organic food from local growers as much as they can. So for that alone it is worth the visit. Quite pricey for Nepali standards. Probably looking at $60-80 for dinner for two with few drinks. Reservation recommended but not required. Live Nepali dance performance with the band is an added bonus. All in all – good place!!!
