Ate at the Brookville many years ago when it was in Brookville and not moved to I-70 in Abilene, so we had concerns..all unfounded
The scrubbed up waitresses were super pleasant and the place is HUGE so despite the dreaded tour bus crowd rolling in, we were served quickly and the food was very good.
Fixed price gives you ALL YOU CAN EAT of cottage cheese, relishes, an interesting slaw that to me tastes like marshmallow cream and vinegar, biscuits (wish they had honey), divine mashed potatoes, cream gravy, and fantastic creamed corn with just a touch of sweetness. And the chicken is great too..super crispy and ample portions followed by ice cream our server told us to top with the homemade preserves...very good...and $15.
When we left we saw the take out menu and realized it was a far better deal. We are hearty eaters, but did not need seconds of anything, so you might check it out.
Be sure to check hours...they are closed mon/tues, open for lunch only on weekends, and they do get super busy, so call ahead.
We'd go again...a nice oasis out on the highway for sure.
