“Best Hotel in Kampala”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

I stay here whenever I am in KLA on business. It costs more, but the service and cleanliness are better than any other hotel. If you don't want to eat at the hotel, walk up the road to Shanghai, or over to Khyber Pass Indian restaurant. It is also within walking distance to Oasis and Garden City shopping and the Crafts Village near the National Theatre.

Spa services are better than other hotels. Massages are generally good, but can be hit-and-miss, manicures are also available and are satisfactory in a pinch.

Room Tip: If you stay often sign up for Serena Prestige to get free wine and fruit and rooms on higher floors.

About 75 - 90 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. Located very centrally with excellent grounds, good restaurants and efficient service. The rooms are good sized with all amenities. Food is good with decent choices. Taxi services are prompt.

Friendly staff made it a memorable short stay in Kampala. Excellent dishes that are well prepared & presented using locally sourced produce. A bit pricy for Kampala, but worthwhile for the exclusivity and personal attention received.

The Serena Kampala is just lovely. The staff was not only extremely pleasant but also trained to anticipate a guest's every need. The room was well appointed, with fresh flowers and a view out over the city. The food was also excellent. The grounds are truly an oasis. In addition, the who's who's of Kampala and the international community seem to gather here regularly so it is a good place to watch people or make connections. Despite the large size of the hotel, the ambiance is friendly. I would definitely stay here again. Finally, the internet worked flawlessly, a big advantage for any business traveler.

I have stayed in many hotels in Kampala and must praise the Serena hotel. The staff have been trained with good communication skills and everyone was very polite. If you have any kind of issue they try and resolve it straight away. I hired a function room in thee very large conference center and again very good service. Facilities at the hotel were excellent and the rooms were spacious and very clean. Overhaul I felt safe, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent service, excellent food, excellent infrastructure - gives an excellent experience. A real good stay but a little pricy - good for business or to spend

Great business Hotel very comfortable rooms and suites. HM The Queen has stayed here during the commonwealth conference and I saw President Bill Clinton there on my previous visit a few weeks ago. The hotel is set a very lush park setting in the center of town with excellent security and great lap pool.. The buffet style main restaurant is excellent and the small Italian Explorer restaurant is cozy. Plenty of space for meetings and lobby is usually full of business people and govt officials....staff a very friendly and very efficient.

Room Tip: Garden view.....
