I really disagree with part of Djarabis review. I have stayed here probably ten times. Its not a brilliant hotel but very good for the price and you have to be fair when you review a hotel. There are absolutely no mosquitos in this hotel ( particularly the upstairs rooms). All the windows to the communal corridors are closed upstairs before dark and the rooms have nets on the windows and airconditioning in most of the rooms. Whilst there was one incident where some cockroaches emerged from the broken bath panel i have never seen one since.

The hotel is situated in the safe precinct of the Kampala Club and is quite handy to the majority of city sites. Sadly, it is in dire need of a large refurbishment programme. Just about everything is in need of replacement - the outdoor breakfast area tables and chairs are all uneven, the carpets in the room I stayed in needed cleaning, the curtains were shabby, etc. The daily laundry feature was very handy if you are travelling light but the breakfast was ordinary. One thing that was particularly annoying was that if you slept in and then went to shower you got lukewarm or almost cold water - rise early and get hot water. One beacon in the establishment was Fred, a Ugandan national who could not do enough to help, nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile. If you can accept a certain amount of mediocrity, the location and price are enough to tempt you to stay here.

This hotel is located near the Stanbic Bank and Kakumatt, downtown Kampala. The price is reasonnable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite nice and well equipped, but many cockroaches are to be met... No mosquito nets provided. The breakfast is included and generous.

I liked this place despite the so-so rooms

All laundry is include in room rate, this was useful as I was 7 days into a 2 week trip.

Wireless is included and worked relatively well.

Breakfast is included but definitely nothing special.

Overall service is good and there is secure parking.

You also get access to the Kampala Club that offers reasonably priced drinks.

Good value for the money directly across from the Sheraton in the center of town
