Description: Prunes introduces the first concept eatery in Kampala, bringing together taste, experience, freshness and design. It was created to gather the cosmopolitan community of Kampala and invite people to enjoy local, fresh produce. At Prunes, we offer an authentic experience through our healthy menu, as well as friendly atmosphere. We are focused on detail and quality: our house blend coffee is tested and approved by Africa’s barista champion, who has also trained our staff. Ingredients come freshly picked from various farms and the cupcakes are known to be mouthwatering. Our garden provides a break from the busy streets of Kampala and ensures a quiet, relaxed dining experience for our clients. Prunes also offers catering services as well as events and meetings facilities, with free wi-fi. Take aways and deliveries are also available, making us the ideal choice for 'on the go' people. Come check us out on Wampewo Avenue, next to the Kololo Airstrip.

“The nicest breakfast experience on a Saturday...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

Super place for a bite, staff is friendly, fast and professional, the manager knows about customer relations... The food is simple and good, fresh juices are a god send after a night of partying... Try the apple and mint !
On Saturdays, bring your grocery list, because there is a open market with fresh greens, bread, cheeses and many others ...

“Excellent coffee shop plus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

A favourite of Kampala residents, this small restaurant serves good coffee plus a small but interesting menu. My light lunch was excellent. Lovely outdoor seating, good service. They offer free wireless, too, although it didn’t work with my Mac. I look forward to another visit.

“awesome farmers market”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Prunes is nice. The food is good, the staff is friendly and competent, and the location is beautiful. But my Favorite part is the Saturday Farmers Market. :)

“Nice spot for relaxing breakfast or lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Prune's has filled a void that was missing in Kampala. You can come here for tasty and healthy breakfast or lunch options, in a relaxing environment. Also offer very nice drinks (coffees, juices, smoothies, etc. both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). They are also open for dinner, which I have heard is good though cannot comment on yet. A little market on Saturdays (10AM-2PM) which is mainly directed at expat community and offers fresh vegetables, baked goodies, and crafts. Service good, staff is very friendly.

“lovely place for having a break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

I know the place basically from Saturday's 'farmer's market', where I like to buy the very fresh and good vegetables and diary products. After this shopping there's nothing better than sit down and have a cafe latte with a small delicious breakfast. The food is lovely, the menu has something for everyone.
In the meantime my little daughter has a blast on the new built jungle gym or the trampoline.
There is not so much space to sit, it can get a little tight when many people are around and prices are a bit expensive. But nevertheless, I'll do my weekly visits there and have a good time.
