“Hmmmmm...!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

I would recommend that you spend no more than an hour at this museum. It was interesting to see the artifacts but there is not a great deal of interactive activities. The one interactive activity was the musical instruments which my daughter enjoyed but I was immediately hassled to buy jewellery from the member of staff. We were not offered or told about a guide as alot of schools were there at the time. The outside exhibit of huts was very poor and again hassled to buy jewellery. Worth a quick visit if you have an hour to pass.

“Journey Into Uganda's Past”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2012

Uganda has a treasure trove of culture hidden in its history. It was exciting to experience the history of Uganda, especially the different waring kingdoms and the advent of Christianity in Uganda. I enjoyed visiting the different huts that were on display in the Museum compound.

“Fascinating relics”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2012

Worth a (short) visit - in fact have been several times. Its future precarious as govt want to knock it down for unnecessary 30 storey commercial building. Uganda has little built heritage - this must be protected. Does need a facelift - the presentation is very much a product of it day; that being the 1950's of the British Protectorate.

“OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

Like most museums it changes so for some it may not be the same...I found it lacking and just thrown together. Being the only real museum here I was hoping for more but hey some culture and knowledge is better than none!

“Sad hovel with zero sense of cultural preservation”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Uganda does a uniquely terrible job of any vague fragment of cultural preservation in this sad, poorly lit dump of a museum. Displays are dusty, light bulbs are dead, nothing is organized (note the Model T randomly placed in the middle of the museum??). Partially depressing and partly aggravating that no credence is paid to history in this country, least of all at the museum. One redeeming display is the assortment of huts outside demonstrating the lifestyle of the various tribes.
