Mediterraneo is an expansion of a like-named restaurant in Kenya. Great Italian food can be had here, with plenty of tasty booze to go along with it. Staff a mix of Indian and ethnic Ugandans, all of whom were courteous if a bit nervous about doing things wrong.
This restaurant is firmly on the expat/ngo/diplomat circle which comes with higher prices, but it didn't unsettle whatsoever.
Pork is available, which is not always common in my experiences in Uganda. I had the lasagna which felt pre-prepared, frozen, and re-heated. Nonetheless delicious. The cheese and charcuterie plate and a salad is a good way for 2 people to share starters. Tasty.
No children with us, but does seem kid-friendly as a few were around that were generally well behaved. Couples on dates as well.
Recommended during your stay in Kampala.
