“Great cabanas & great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2011

I stayed here in July 2011 for 5 days for a business trip and loved it. The airport shuttle was there on time when I arrived. I stayed in a Jr. Suite and enjoyed the quiet, private oasis from the loud city. The room was large and the free, stocked mini-fridge was a nice touch. They even offered champagne on the veranda my first night there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of food options in the complex - a fantastic deli with amazing sandwiches (They even deliver to the room, if you want), the bakery, and the Restaurant which was top notch. The food selection was wide and delicious. I have to say the food options were the best part of my stay! The bathtub, shower, and beds were all luxurious!

The only "cons" were that although they had soap and shampoo in the rooms, they weren't able to provide any lotion or toothpaste which were items I had forgotten, and which are normally pretty standard at most hotels (travel size), especially considering the rates for the hotel. When I asked about them, the staff told me I should buy it at the pharmacy (which is also in the compound) because "that's what it's there for". Finally, the location is out of the way unless you are doing business at the US Embassy, which is very very close. Otherwise, fighting the traffic is a hassle unless you are willing to leave super-early in the AM or super-late in the morning to avoid rush hour traffic.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay there and will likely come back.

The visit started with a very pleasant on time airport collection - important when tackling the drive to Kampala! Check in was done promptly and efficiently with some nice touches like cool drinks and towels. I had an upstairs room which was really of a good quality. The rooms are large, well decorated and have great beds with mosquito nets. The wireless was free and works well and the working area is spacious and well lit.
The restaurant must be one of the best in town and is well populated by local expats, and the bakery and coffee shop are legendary.
The concierge / reception were really helpful and organised a rafting trip and some shopping with a smile.
The only downside was a lack of a shower in the room, otherwise it was great.

Room Tip: Get a room with a shower.

The restaurant has a very good menu with very good meat. Tere is a very good wine shop with a choice of french, spanish, south africans white and red wine.
The pastry is like in France. stayed 4 weeks there and at my next trip in Sept I will
stay the same.

Room Tip: The VIP room is really superior for a reasonnable price

Le Petit Village is the perfect place to rest and recharge amongst the hussle and bussle of Kampala. This luxury hotel is a breath of fresh air in this intense & overwhelming city.
The staff were all so very friendly and helpful, we arrived late after a long journey, they picked us up from the airport and they made us feel so welcome and at ease.
The rooms and whole resort is clean, modern and comfortable. Our rooms had wonderful four poster beds, shower and bath, safe, tea and coffee facilities, TV, internet, air con and a balcony. It's the little touches we loved, they came around one afternoon with Prosecco at sunset, the blanket/towels on the sun loungers, complementary soft drinks and beers in the room and of course the evening bed turn down and the beautiful African meets Western decor & atmosphere
The restaurant had fantastic food & wine, locals come here to eat also not just guests, their meat fondue is a must, so much food & so very tasty. They also have an onsite bakery, deli, wine boutique, pharmacy and gift and crafts shop.
We highly recommend Le Petit Village and would not hesitate to go back.

Nice hotel, very clean and beautiful rooms. Its a good place to stay before and after your safari. The food was really good. the only thing is that close to the hotel is a place where at nights plays loud music.

Room Tip: the best rooms are the ones that are in top floor cos is more light and you can have a nice terrace

Stayed here while on a work trip. A plus is that it is near the US Embassy (if you need to do some work there) and near a fun part of town. The rooms are amazing! Really pretty hardwood floors, comfortable beds, nice showers.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony.

We stayed here based on other reviews and the hotel totally exceeded our expectations. Due to delayed flights, we got into Entebbe airport at 3am (actually 2am but then an hour filing forms for luggage left in Addis Ababa because our plane was too small to carry it all, but thats another story) We were 3 hours late and figured there was no way our driver, sent by the hotel, waited for us - but there he was - as thrilled to see us as we were him! We arrived about 4am - who knew people could be so nice at 4am! The credit card machine wasn't working so the manager just showed us to our room (bungelow) and said we'd figure it out in the morning!
The thatched bungelow is a beautiful suite - bedroom and sitting room, a small kitchen (fridge had comp beer/soda/water), wonderful bed, great shower, so clean...we woke up in the morning thrilled to see the beautiful grounds and pool. The breakfast was amazing - mimosas, eggs, fruit, breads, the works!
