Allow me to preface by saying I didn't stay at the hotel, I went for the private beach where you can pay 1,500 cfa (about $3 USD) to spend all day. We went during Tobaski so it wasn't crowded with locals, which I hear can happen. I've been told it's crazy on a Sunday afternoon. That being said, it is many an expat's favorite beach because of the seclusion and lovely views. I rented a plastic lounge chair with a foam mat for 3,000 cfa (about $6 USD) and it was completely worth it. There are lovely large palm trees that provide shade, which is rare to find on a beach in Dakar and really allows you to enjoy the whole day without burning! There is a pizzaria on the beach, or you can bring a cooler with your own drinks and snacks. May I also mention it was extremely quiet as it is past the industrial area of town, so there's not alot of city traffic. You can actually hear and enjoy the waves. It was a great way to spend the day.
So, if you're looking for a simple hotel with a great beach, there you go.
