“Nice locallity”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Recently Stayed for 3 nights and was ungraded to business for what reason I am not sure.
Prices are expensive hence we eat out.For a top hotel most staff require training especially bar staff.Had been waiting to be served my wife was served her drink when the barman served another person and I had to ask again for service not good enough.Location is great along with the pool but found the atmosphere impersonal.

Room Tip: rooms on ground floor offer easier access to the pool.

Only used the hotels facilities. Wi fi very good. But again the food and drink service was very slow. I found the prices very expensive. After a certain point hotel was unable to change euros into local currency. This affected my stay and had to leave earlier than wanting to. Nice pool and nice areas to rest. I wouldn't stay a night here as the prices are too high and you don't get your money's worth. On a plus, there is a massive shopping centre round the corner but the cinema isn't built yet even though there are signs for it.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea view

Stayed for three nights. Stayed in a business room which included a poorly mended crack in the wall and a large bathroom (had a large shower and my colleague a bath).
Breakfast was good if you have a sweet tooth - poor if you like non sweetened cereals or fibres ...
The pool area is very nice and service good (not super no).

If you would like to eat a lighter meal in the evening the pool side restaurant is the only option. The fancy indoors restaurant does not offer flexibility or cater for special requirements. And if it is a chilly evening its going to be very cold. Then of course the staff will tell you to go inside and eat in the lounge area at the bar: This is a great idea if you are below 150 cm since the chairs and tables are fashionably loungily low - it is not a good idea as a grown up since you end up sitting with your knees at your ears trying to eat.

The hotel caters for business people but during my stay also provided a small band in the evenings at the pool which seems like a bit of a contradiction. The business rooms face the sea/pool and therefore the music is a nuisance (yes, they finish at "10ish" pm) if you want to work or go to bed early (since many flights leave early). Additionally on one of the evenings another "party" (including loud music) took place at the other side of the hotel (!!)
When pointing this out to Reception and asking for when this cacophony of sound would finish they kindly offered me to swap room. At 2230 and with the alarm set for 0350 this was not an option ...
So if you value your sleep perhaps you should go somewhere else.

Room Tip: The further away from the nice pool view the better if you prefer quiet evenings

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the view of the ocean was spectacular and it seemed like the pool continued into the ocean which gave a visually appealing effect. Breakfast was very good and there was always a choice between eating inside the restaurant and eating outside in fresh air. The staff were friendly too. The hotel is located close to a mall and is dirctly on the Corniche so evening walks were great!

Great hotel. Excellent service. Wonderful breakfast buffet. There is a pool overlooking the ocean and breakfast is served on the patio overlooking the water. The mall next door has a grocery store and spa/gym associated with the hotel. It also has several restaurants.

You can hear the evening flights from the Dakar airport.

Lots of area to run and walk along the shore.

Let me start with two things.... this is my first Radisson stay ever, I've been a Marriott Platinum member for more than a decade.

Arrived here in early December 2012, from the outside it looks very nice. The staff was accommodating allowing us to store our luggage for several hours until check in. However, when we did check in (party of 4) it took them more than 40 minutes to retrieve it from storage that was literally twenty feet away behind the counter. We ended up getting it ourselves.
We were told our rooms had been upgraded to ocean view.... two of us had a wonderful view of the construction that was going on. This was very frustrating borderline insulting.
Room 156 was comparable to a Marriott Courtyard but....
1. A/C didn't cool the room - called maintenance three times (over 2 days) - still no results
2. Used hot water pot in the room and blew the circuit breaker both times, maintenance person came the first time after about an hour the second time the same but he took the pot to get me another - THREE HOURS LATER I called and got it about 20 minutes later.
3. No premium TV channels
4. Asked to have staff empty the bar emptied so I could put my stuff in the tiny refrigerator took two phone calls after the second it still took more than two hours

EVERYTHING HERE IS ALL ABOUT $$ AND THE STAFF just doesn't show any sense of urgency to helping guests as everything requires numerous requests. Tried room service and it was VERY overpriced when compared to other places I've stayed and one hamburger that I ordered was almost raw but looked almost burned (requested well done) on the outside showing the grill was turned up VERY high to cook it quickly but not thoroughly showing a lack of experience in the kitchen staff. Got two small bottles of water on first day only they were never replaced like other hotels do. Walls are very thin as i could hear neighbors and the band playing or music from the bar keeping me awake.
I wouldn't stay here again unless there was no other place to stay, the only redeeming thing is there is a mall with a food court and grocery store attached via the first floor of hotel accessible with your room key. There is also a pharmacy there too.

Room Tip: check out the room thoroughly before you unpack - check hot water and if you want a view check that...
