GocheGanas has got everything going for it in terms of it's location, it's a stones throw away from Windhoek , a mere 40 minute drive.
The lodge has a system whereby on arrival you park your car in a covered area, which is aprox 1km from the accommodation. You are greeted here and you off load all your luggage into one of their mini busses, which transports you to the reception for check in.
We really enjoyed the views from the terrace overlooking the game farm, and it was very relaxing to watch the sun set from Toko's bar with a G & T.
The rooms are really spacious , all with amazing views, we had room 1 which was close to the reception area, yet very quiet. The bed linen is luxurious , yet the super warm duvet was too hot for us, bed was comfortable .
Lighting on the rooms is very weak, with a mixture of warm and cold energy saving lights, this needs attention.
The food was excellent , the menu is a bit limited , different everyday, all the ingredients are super fresh and top grade, my Salad with Sole was excellent, the wine list is compiled of South African wines, not extensive but enough to get by on.
We did the afternoon game drive with ARMSTRONG, which was most enjoyable, he is extremely knowledgeable of both wild life and fauna.
They have 13 white rhinos on the reserve, one of them had just given birth and we were really excited to see the 3 week old calf. There are NO CATS , or elephants , so do not come here if that is what you are looking for. We also spotted wildebeest, oryx, eland and various other buck.
There is spa , with various treatments on offer, we only used the facility to swim in the indoor heated pool, which was great.
On the negative side the service is ok , the staff in the restaurant just seem to do the basics, they are not attentive of your needs, and lack communication skills. It is not like Thailand where they are geared up to service your every requirement.
One last point for management , not everyone likes to continually hear piped music in the back ground from the 80's and 90's , it detracts from your bush experience with nature.
We left feeling extremely relaxed and enjoyed our stay at GocheGanas
Make sure you do the sunset afternoon game drive

Please note that GocheGanas hosts wild and free roaming Cheetah, Leopard and Caracal; our guests once and again have the privilege to spot these shy creatures.
Elephant are in fact not common to GocheGanas due to the low food volume available for this mammal. The GocheGanas Team therefore never introduced or reintroduced species that do not adapt or ever suffer in this habitat.
With kind regards and best wishes
