Villa Violet is an ideal base from which to explore Windhoek, but also to do nothing and relax. The location is very convenient, with restaurants such as Joe's Beerhouse within walking distance and downtown only about 20 min. on foot, or a short taxi-ride away. The neighborhood is extremely peaceful and so is the property, which has a nice garden pool, a lounge/dining room where fresh homemade breakfast is served every morning, and outdoor seating for reading/working. There's wireless throughout the guesthouse, and I found it to be a great place to just relax and do some light work. The owners are both extremely helpful and were able to arrange transportation, recommend restaurants and talk about Namibia in general. Overall I was very impressed by the level of hospitality. Stayed for two nights following a drive to the Sossusvlei (a stunning trip!).
