On our first day in Mauritius, we were scouting for a good restaurant along Royal Road in Grand Baie at night. We had read that there were many dining options and were actually seaching for Happy Raja (which was highly rated on Trip Advisor) The road was quite deserted (around 7.30 pm) and we could not figure out the way. We passed by La Pagode (it was empty and looked quite shady). However we were tired, and we were a family of 4 and so we decided to eat here. We selected a table near the entrance and as I was about to sit, my son noticed a lizard on the back of my chair. The restaurant was dimly lit (red light!!) However we shifted to the next table. Service was quick. The food was surprisingly very good. Portions were reasonable and we were happy we ate here. By the time we finished our meal, the restaurant was quite full. Maybe people have late dinner in Mauritius or it was just a coincidence!!
