“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

This stylish place ranks highly among Tana's restaurants, and rightly so. A good menu and well priced compared to nearby competitors. Helpful staff and nice cheap cocktails at the bar. Like many restaurants in its class, it serves rather ordinary South African cask wine as its carafe option.

“Poor Service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

Obviously "the" place to go and eat -- but poor service and average food for such a reputation. Patronising anti-anglophile waiters. Pretend-French menu. Expensive.

“Very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

This is a really nice restaurant, but not quite as good as I had expected given all the rave reviews I'd read. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service is attentive, and most other diners are foreigners. We enjoyed it enough to return and are glad we did.

Our group had numerous dishes. The fried fish finger starter is really nice, as is the royal Merina soup with shrimp and collard greens. The zebu with blue cheese sauce was good and the sauce not too strong. The sesame-coated calamari was nice, but a bit overcooked. The barbeque pork was tender and the sauce rather sweet. The chicken and lamb curry was disappointing: the chicken tough, the lamb fatty, and the curry sauce bland.

For dessert, the "le must" alone is worth coming back for. It is a large, low, flat chocolate lava cake with a small scoop of lime sorbet which is a perfect contrast for the sweet cake. The "many chocolates" dessert is fun, too, but a bit overwhelming and not quite as wonderful as le must. The opera cake is okay, and the cheese plate is quite impressive.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

This is the second time i have eaten here in a week. I tipped up here again because the other choice tonight was closed and in some respects I am glad it was. What can I say everything about this place is perfect. On both occasions the food has been out of this world in fact better than in high class restruants in London, Paris and New York and at a fraction of the price. The staff are brilliant which despite the language barrier have a sense of humour and are attentive. They also have a good understanding of English for jelp with the menu although there is one in english. The place has a calm and relaxing feel to it far removed from the husstle and bustle outside in downtown Antananarivo giving the place a nice ambience to relax in after a day working in the city. In my opinion this should be number 1 on the Trip Advisor web site as it is far superuior to all the other places I have eaten in the city. What more can I say.

“Disappointingly Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

Heard great things about this place, but was just a bit underwhelmed. Nothing particularly bad, but nothing that great either.
