Stayed at La Residence for seven nights. I booked a 'suite' so that I could have internet access (not available in all rooms). Sadly this was unavailable after the first day due to a problem with the phone line. The manager kindly offered her mobile internet flash drive to check emails but was not quite the same as wireless access.
We had enquired about paying with credit card and were told that this was not a problem (we even checked a few times to make sure!). Sadly on check out we were told they were not able to process a credit card because they did not have internet. Am not sure why internet was required...butI ended up paying in US dollars - which was a lot of cash. It would have been good to have been told this earlier, and for management to make other arrangements to allow us to use credit cards.
The room was huge and a bit faded. However seemed clean and lots of hot water. Other issues were a broken shower and very musty bed linen. Mosquito net had some holes. Staff were nice and food was fine.
Recommend? For 50 Euros per night it was OK but will search around for somewhere else when we go back.
