This guest house is great for a single traveler, couple, or maybe a small family. The area is very safe and we walked up and down the streets without ever feeling threatened. Scenery is very near the Lesotho Air Base (we never saw 1 airplane in 2 weeks) and the national football (soccer) stadium. Not many of the local had any idea when games were being played, so the team must not be much of a draw.
The rooms are nice, if not a little small. They were always kept very clean and the building itself is in good repair. Rooms upstairs tend to have air conditioning, while most downstairs rooms have fans. This is an important point in the summer months when the weather can get very warm. Also, only some rooms had refrigerators, so if this is important make sure they know upon making your reservation.
Breakfast in the morning is generally good and the options while limited tasted fresh and homemade. There is a kitchen available for guest to use during other meals, or additional meals can be provided by the hotel for an additional cost. Wireless internet is complimentary which is unheard of in Lesotho. Keep in mind that not all rooms get the wireless signal, so the closer your room is to the front desk the better the chances of picking up the signal.
The big selling points for this guesthouse are price and staff. The price is better then almost anywhere else in Maseru. They also take credit cards, which is uncommon for most guest houses in Maseru. The staff is absolutely fantastic. We never met one person who was not willing to jump in and help with anything and everything. We were always greeted with a big smile and treated like a member of the family. Our son (18 month old) was also kept entertained by nearly every staff member, whether through dancing, walking, running, eating, smiling, etc..
My only complaint is that there is not much to do right around the property, so if you have young children come prepared with activities for them. It costs approx 30 rand for a taxi into the main part of the city.
