The Movenpick is modern and luxurious. It has a large cool reception area that is adorned with African art as is each floor. Walking into the Ambassador from the humid heat and bustle of the chaotic Ghanaian capital is like walking into portal of another country and there lies the reason I took off a star. Despite its cool interior decor you feel like you have left Africa and instead into a hotel that is a pseudo “Africanised” version of a large European hotel. The piano player in the lobby the lack of African inspired cuisine make you feel you could be anywhere but Africa.
That said it’s a great place for a business traveler who wants to arrive have a comfortable place to stay for a short period of time. This hotel has great beds, is clean and has all the amenities you'd expect.

Central location, friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms well furnished and always clean.
Best Breakfast Buffet in Accra but the a la carte lunch and dinner menue has only a few varieties. Exotic dishes offered lack original taste. Stayed there several times and will definitely come back.

The Movenpick hotel, Accra is lovely and modern. The food was very good but I would have wished to sample more local delicacies. The service was very good with friendly and helpful staff. Yes! they have a large swimming pool with roller skating waiters. I loved the coffee shop which had good coffee and snacks. The hotel also has a emporium with a variety of shops and a bank. Generally, a very good place to stay in Accra either for business or leisure.

I have been to the Movenpick several times - having stayed there overnight, on another occasion attending a concert, and another time spent a day by the pool and attending several Sunday brunches. We stayed in the executive suites, and whilst not cheap come highly recommended in a part of the world where such service and luxury can be hard to come by. The rooms are nice, clean and well presented , the bathrooms in particular are nice. The staff are professional and quick , and in the executive suites you can visit the executive lounge any time for free drinks/nibbles. The views from the lounge balcony are nice too. To spend a day by the pool is also nice but expensive - something like 60 cedies but you get one drink for this. The brunch on Sundays is nice, but I do not think should be called a champagne brunch as you only get one glass, whereas in other parts of the world you get free flowing champagne. The pool is huge and great for swimming and relaxing!

The Movenpick is a very modern oasis of calm luxury in a country where these commodities are not in great supply. Cool and classic but lacking a little in personality it should suit anyone who needs reliable efficiency instead of local charm. A huge pool with roller skating waiters, lovely white soft bedding, modern accoutrements are a few of its advantages. A great place to relax or do some business.

The Movenpick in Accra is a terrific hotel with great food, service, and facilities. I have stayed at other properties in the past only to learn that they were not up to the standard they claimed. the Movenpick meets or exceeds expectations. Upon arrival, we were offered fruit drinks while we waited and visited. the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, modern, and fully functional. The shower (no tub in my room), was large, had a hand held and rain shower head, as well as a small bench. There was ample storage space, a comfortable bed, and a nice sized flat panel TV. You could adjust the air system by a few degrees one way or the other. A one liter (larger?) complimentary water bottle is provided each day, which is much better than the usual smaller bottles. the pool area is very nice and there is pool side service by roller-skating staff from the outdoor bar. It would be nice if there were more options (pizza?) from the pool bar. The restaurant has a nice buffet at all three meals, or you can order a la carte. the food was very good on every occasion. My only complaint is that the restaurant service is slow and a bit inattentive. At breakfast I was never asked if I wanted coffee, I always had to flag down a staff member. The restaurant staff sometimes seemed unsure about what they were supposed to be doing. Whoever manages the restaurant needs to get trained on how to best use the staff and then train the staff. With that said, it is a minor complaint and certainly addressable. My other larger complaint is that while I had a non-smoking room, it was apparent that someone had previously smoked in it and people were smoking in the rooms around me. I would wake up each morning smelling smoke. The rooms wee not labeled as non-smoking, but they did not have ashtrays and are supposed to be non-smoking. The hotel needs to address this problem and make it very clear, as well as enforce the policy.
