I had a week-long stay for work at the Meridien Re-Ndama in Libreville a couple of months ago and whilst the welcoming was great and staff were doing all they could to assist, I have to say the hotel is in great need of refurbishment. I guess you come expecting more of a Meridien hotel (and generally speaking more for the price they charge too), but you don't get it: my phone in the room didn't work and never got fixed although I did mention it to reception, the chair in my room was broken and got fixed awkwardly rather than changed (basically I stayed with a broken chair a whole week), the air conditioning was noisy and sometimes leaked, the internet connection was very unreliable, the bathroom very dated and the electricity got cut off several times a day (although I believe that's nothing to do with the Meridien but a city-wide problem). On the plus side though, I have to say the food was good at the hotel's restaurant and the room clean. All in all I cannot say I had a bad stay because people were lovely, but I wouldn't be able to recommend the Meridien as a great destination, unless you know full well what you are getting into and accept the flaws.
