Serenade, with its Mediterranean menu, was a welcome change from traditional Ethiopian food. I had dinner there with a group, and all of us except the two who had the beef were very pleased.
Fortunately, the main courses are available in two sizes, as the starters and desserts are very tempting. Most of us ordered the small portions, which turned out to be quite generous. And you don’t get that much more if you order a large portion.
We started out sharing plates of very good mezze along with lovely bread served with several kinds of dip. My main course consisted of tender lamb in a delicious sauce. Others raved about the chicken in yoghurt sauce.
Afterwards we were shown a number of delectable desserts. I chose the lime tart, which was excellent. Others loved the tiramisu.
Serenade doesn’t serve alcohol, but the waiter ran out and bought us some quite good French wine. The service was very friendly and efficient.
The style of the Serenade is simple and pleasant, and it was fun seeing all of the art displayed. The toilet is amazing! Not only sparkling clean, but the decor is really special. I wish I'd taken a picture of it.
The Serenade is hard to find, but definitely worth the bother. Recommended!
