The hotel is of a reasonable standard for a capital city of a less developed African country. it is quite well located, only being a short distance from the airport (but not too close). The room was clean enough and big enough. The air conditioner worked and there were a few TV channels. Wireless internet worked for most of the time. The staff were generally helpful. The food in the restaurant was reasonably good. The pool also very nice and good to jump into after a long hot day.
There were some security problems in Ouagadougou whilst I was there. Part of the army revolted and there was a lot of shooting. Many shots were fired outside the hotel. The government declared a curfew and all of the staff left the hotel, apart from one man in reception. All of the guests also fled, apart from 2 of us. This meant there was no one to provide food or anything else. After some argument, the man in reception provided a key for the kitchen and I was able to go and find a few scraps of food to prepare myself.
Of course, a lot of this was not the fault of the hotel. But they did not warn us that the staff were leaving and no service would be available.
