We visit Gaborone game park nearly every month. It was established by the city so that all of us could enjoy an affordable and pleasurable game experience right in the town. There are no predators and the game mainly consists of antelope and the smaller animals. However it is our experience that each visit is different depending on the season and the weather. Of special interest are the wetlands and ponds where numerous waterbirds may be seen including fisheagles and flamingos. However other birds typical of dry south eastern Botswana are also common. We are very fond of the rocky western section which is a favourite haunt of dassies and guinea fowl. The picnic sites in the centre are very popular at weekends too.
