Wonderful location and grounds, 5 minute walk to the falls. Staff all very friendly and accommodating, especially Catherine (head chef) and Charles N in the White Water restaurant. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

Room Tip: Rooms close to the walk way to the falls were well located and quiet

I stayed at the kingdom for 3 nights.

It was overall a pleasant experience. The rooms were good and the pool is amazing. The nightly entertainment at dinner is excellent. My favourite part of the hotel. You get to watch the zulu men dance and sing while you eat. They also get the crowd up and involved which is entertaining.

However a few minor issues.
The hotel had a pretty basic buffet dinner. Some of it was nice, the breakfast was better than the dinner. Not a huge variety and very westernised which I didn't like because I wanted the country's own food.
The beds were very stiff, but ok for a few nights.
There seemed to be a few mozzies in the rooms which was a bit annoying while you slept to avoid bites.

Overall a pretty good hotel, not extremely fancy, but definitely nice.

The location is close to the falls but that is all the hotel has going for it. The food is horrible and everyone here expects major tips - i was even told by one that a $20 US tip was expected for what was a $2 service. The food is very expensive as well. The breakfast came with our stay; however, it is $27 per person if you have to pay and it is worth about $6. Vic Falls in general is a tourist trap - having to use US dollars and being charged different prices whether you are local or foreign. I would suggest doing a day trip to Vic Falls just to see the falls (on the Zimbabwe side - you will be dissapointed on the Zambia side) - and not staying over night! The mattress was horrible - very hard - must use mosquito net - as mosquitos were everywhere. Also saw several bug problems including ants.

A few friends and myself headed up to Vic Falls to run the half marathon and although this would not have been my first choice had we booked accommodation ourselves, the race organizer was using the Kingdom Hotel for their race package - and I have to say that I was very impressed! To be fair the hotel is pretty kitsch in that overblown, over-the-top themed way that hotels can be - that aside, location was brilliant, meals were great, accommodation was spotless and more than adequate, staff were friendly and courteous (in fact the staff at the hotel were the reason to come back - some fantastic characters) and the one room that we secured over-looking the reserve area had a fabulous view. My only real complaint was that the rooms on the main passages throughout the hotel need a little noise-proofing as the traffic through the passage ways is pretty constant given the large number of people staying at this rather large hotel. Overall, I would recommend the hotel to friends or family.

After falling prey to the no triple share room policy that appears to be in place at lot of the Victoria Falls hotels I was pleasantly surprised at this resort. I did like that I could walk to the falls and into the town itself as well as the Victoria Falls Hotel which is situated behind the Kingdom. All the facilities worked as promised. The breakfast buffet was actually quite good.

I was not such a fan of the kitsch outlay, but if I was travelling with kids they would have appreciated it. Not a value for money option if you are a solo traveller at almost 150 dollars a night - but I was stuck as my group required triple share.

Ideal location to Vic Falls - there is a path directly from the hotel property to the falls - you can walk there in a few minutes. Also ideally located for anyone doing the Vic Falls marathon - it starts directly outside the hotel entrance. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing! The swimming pools are also really great, especially for children! Unfortunately food and drinks are all priced in USD and are rather expensive when travelling on the SA Rand. But that seems to apply to all hotels and restaurants in the Vic Falls area.
