“Beautiful Lodge. Wonderful Staff!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

Recently spent 3 nights at A'Zambezi River Lodge. It was the most complete lodge I've ever visited. The setting was beautiful, the rooms were spacious and complete. The staff was helpful beyond belief. One of the staff members even went as far as volunteering to be our tour guide for the duration of our stay in Zimbabwe! It was very special. Thank you very much to everyone at this lodge, especially Kimpton & Nqo who made us feel very welcome at A'zambezi River Lodge :-) Hope to call again very soon. Tshepo & Thandeka

Room Tip: Opt for the River facing room. Beautiful views!!!

“Relaxing and enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

Located right on the banks of the Zambezi River amid beautifully landscaped gardens. Enormous pool area. Although a little out of town regular free shuttle provided. Very relaxed atmosphere, rooms lovely and well serviced. Staff fantastic - were very helpful and extremely firendly - put on a special Valentines Day dinner for guests - certainly not expected but a great night filled with wonderful food and great entertainment. Excellent hotel and highly recommended

“Beautiful resort to relax at!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Stayed 3 days while in Zimbabwe. Nice big room sharing a common veranda. (good to sit and relax). Security is good (guard are guiding entrance and entrance to the stairs are guarded at night)! Breakfast and dinner (live native music provided) are ok! Baboons are quick to grab bites from the breakfast spread! Staff are friendly and helpful. Housekeeping is quick in providing additional bath mat, pillows and towels! It has a beautiful surrounding and the grass thatch roofs made it even more beautiful! It is next to the river!

“Nice Place on the River”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Just came back from a 4-day stay at the A'Zambezi River Lodge. The rooms are nice, although very small. WiFi was included and we never had issues with connection. The hotel is located right on the Zambezi River and animals were always roaming the grounds (mokeys or warthogs).

The breakfast buffet (which was included) was just OK. The dinner buffet was, again, passable but pretty overpriced ($40) if you consider that there were much better options in town. Definitely explore other options for dinner

The staff was always very friendly and helpful.

To get into town is a 10-minute shuttle ride. The shuttle only made about 5 trips/day into town but if you book your excusions through a local company (Thompson, Wild Horizons, Shearwater, Adventure Zone, etc.) they will all collect you from the hotel so I didn't really feel inconvenienced during the day. At night, a cab is required to get into town and is about $8-10 each way.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a river view.

“Loved staying here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

After a long and hot car ride we were greeted by smiling faces with a beautiful cool drink and a wonderful veiw of the zambezi river. The staff are friendly and helpful, you can book activites through the hotel but you dont have to you can also go into town to book them usually the prices are the same but for example of you book a gorge swing and a zip line and a bungee do it as a package not one at a time as the packages work out cheaper and dont be scared of price negotiating! Veiws are spectacular dinners are enjoyable with loads of entertainments and stunning veiws and local food.
If you Bungee dont be afraid to say NO to sellers of wooden items etc, as soon as they see you are a tourist they will swarm, just be firm and polite.
Enjoy your stay highly recoomend this hotel!

Room Tip: ask for a room with a veiw of the river!
