“Stunning!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Gorges Lodge is spectacular! It's a convenient drive from Victoria Falls and the Victoria Falls airport where stunning views of the Zambezi River await you. Lush grounds, attentive and cheerful staff (thanks all!), excellent cuisine and amazing accommodations will all be found here. However, none of those things can compete with the sound of the Zambezi flowing below you as you drift off to sleep or the amazing sunrise to greet you in the morning. I can't wait to go back!

Just returned from a fabulous adventure in Zimbabwe and we concluded our trip at the Gorges - a perfect ending. Located about 20-30 minutes from the Falls, everything is convienent without feeling like you are in a city. Short trips to area attractions as well. The staff there is happy to arrange everything for you. The grounds are impecable and the views are to die for. Our chalet's patio was literally over the gorge. Look down to see the Zambezi River in all its glory. Go to sleep listening to the rush of the water down below. Accomadations were wonderful, lots of hot water, beautiful fixtures, mini fridge, local handmade furniture and decor. The central lounge area was a welcoming and relaxing place for evening cocktails. Food was exceptional and they made sure everyone had exactly what they wanted. This was actually our second trip the Gorges, last trip (romanitc couples trip) we took a white water rafting trip from Victoria Falls that dropped us off at the base of the Gorges and we hiked back up - that is something I still tell my kids about. Thanks to everyone at Gorges who went out of their way to make this an amazing trip.

Gorges Lodges was such a great place to stay at, unwind and enjoy the breathtaking views. Enjoying a delicious meal or brews at the bar with friends, while watching a variety of beautiful birds soaring out over the gorge is so serene. I even took some great photos of the two enormous black eagles to cherish forever! Thank you so much Chris and Deb!

Gorges is beautiful, no words can even describe how pure and exotic the sights you will see when you are here. The rooms over look the Zambezi in spectacular fashion. Not to mention that you are close to Victoria Falls, and Gorges has buses to transport you to and from. Its extremely accommodating. Waking up to the Zambezi right out your door, and amazing sunsets in addition to the AMAZING staff, you will not be let down!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are fantastic!

What can I say, spending time at Gorges was like being on a movie set designed by an Oscar winning location & set designer. No kidding Gorges is the thing you only see in movies. The whole place is on the edge of the gorge and every room, the restaurant & the bar sit on the precipice. The sounds of the flowing mighty Zambezi River serenade you to sleep, the sky out your back door is filled with amazing birds, the staff is delightful, the food top notch, the surrounding area is wonderful and Vic Falls is just a nice drive up the road. I totally enjoyed Gorges, it was the cherry on the cake after a month in the bush in Zimbabwe. I spent quite a bit of time in Vic Falls and have to say if you are debating staying in the city of Victoria Falls or Gorges choose Gorges it is a no brainer. Gorges is AMAZING!

We recently returned from our trip to Zimbabwe. The highlight of our trip was the ending... seeing amazing Victoria Falls and staying at the breathtaking Gorges Lodge!

The view from and the originality of the lodge are second to none. You feel like you are suspended from thin air as you sit back and enjoy a glass of wine at the bar. Similarly, you can relax on your own private balcony from your room and listen to the calming Zambezi River 800 feet below you. Incredible!

The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and willing to accommodate you with any need, and do it with a smile! The food was very good... portion sizes very large, and the service was first class!

It is a short 10 minute drive to the town of Victoria Falls, so you get the best of both worlds!

I highly recommend Gorges Lodge and hope I am lucky enough to stay there again someday!
