“Fine if it's quiet, not so if it's full.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

We stayed at Residence Warda for 3 nights.

I've got mixed feelings about the place. I booked by phone a couple of days before we travelled. The double room inc breakfast, shower/wc and window(?) was TD35 a night plus TD5 a night for heating via a/c unit. The price was year round, and I'd say it was over priced.

When we arrived at 2100 knackered from a train/bus/louage ordeal the B&B was crawling with student types. We'd decided to stay at the same time as a University field study! So the B&B was full (80 rooms) and noisy. All the floors and narrow corridors were tiled and echoed. Fortunately, the noise from the A/C heating cancelled out the laughing and shouting.

The students left after 2 nights, and the place was lovely and peaceful!

Residence Warda was clean enough, the room was small and basic, and breakfast was measured on a tray and very basic. The bedding was a bit iffy and heavy, and pillow lumpy. The shower was passable, and towels a bit threadbare.

There's a pleasant small open reception area, and a nice sun filled courtyard.

Based on our first 2 nights I wouldn't stay there again, but based on our final night on our final night I probably would.

Residence Karim and Hotel Erich(?) looked decent options.

Room Tip: I wouldn't book in advance. I'd turn up and get a feel about the current occupancy. If it...

This was a cheap place to stay for 5 nights breakfast included. It was 25TD/night for 1 person in a double bed. The room was clean and faced a nice quiet central courtyard.
Breakfast was basic with coffee/tea/chocolate, bread, cake, fig jam; almost a standard in Tunisian budget hotels. Take a few small pots of strawberry jam, chicken paste or some cheese spread just to liven up the breakfast.
En suite rooms have a shower/wc/basin and air con is a small extra, but not needed in November anyway. In summer you should take the air con option.
Reception will give you a password for free WiFi, very useful for uploading pics to friends or facebook! The WiFi range will give you reception in your room and the next door restaurant.
Reception can also arrange or book you onto excursions (as can agencies on the main street).
Just one thing to note: ask for a room facing the courtyard, rooms facing the main road suffer from traffic noise.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the courtyard, rooms facing the main road suffer from traffic noise.

Hotel Résidence Warda is a nice and clean hotel in the center of Tozeur. Prices are cheap : 15 dinars for one night, breakfast included ! We slept like roses in good beds and enjoyed the view from our room on the flowery inner court.
We'll be visiting the South of Tunisia again in April and will stay again in the Warda Résidence !
