Sbleita is impressive. All the way from Le Kef to Sbleita you´ll find a series of roman ruins, scattered in the Tunisian countryside. Sbleita was the biggest town. It´s hard to imagine what was this city, with temples, bridges, large baths, doing in the middle of nowhere. Yet, it is there. It was a surprise to me. There is not too much left, but the temples are well preserved and while walking around you can feel how wealthy this city was. It contrasts with the sorroundings. For the adventurous people or lovers of roman antiques, this will be an interesting experience. The only problem is roads are not very good in this region and there are no good hotels around. If you´re staying in Sousse, I supposed you could visit by car on a day trip. From Tunis or Hammamet, it´s too far. I drove all the way from Tunis, visited Sbeitla and slept in Tozeur, but this was far too exhausting. I suppose the best thing to do is to include Sbeitla on a car trip from Sousse to Tozeur (or vice-versa). Anyway, it´s worth the visit.
