I have to admit that we were little a bit afraid of this lodge, first tents, with feel of kind of forced authenticity for tourists by Maasai people who co-run this lodge. This suspicion turned out to be nice surprise at the end.
Excellent position in between crater and Serengeti, in the middle of nowhere, there was one Koopje (little rocky hill), and all around were tents. Tents with extra roof, toilet, shower, real comfortable bed.
After nice welcome, we were directly taken to our tent, given 2 minutes and taken further by 1 Maasai warrior to watch sunset nearby. Maasai nicknamed Rasta was really nice guy, very happy to explain and answer all the question and with real happiness to teach of couple of Maa words.
After this pleasant walk there was dinner served in the central area, pity that it was kind if standard international food, pretty ok, but I would rather see some options of local food.
Beer and wine served at prices comparable to other tourists camps.
One more regret, everybody disappeared right after dinner to their tents, even if group of Maasai was ready to sign some songs or dance by what they called "Bush TV" (fireplace :-), well, we stayd and got some extra chance to learn something more about those fascinating people.
Night was calm, even if limited by poor lightning in the tent, but with hot water, really comfortable bed, correct breakfast and lunch box (you could mix it yourself from pretty solid choice of cold meals, frits and vegetables)
I would definitely recommend this experience, even if true Maasai experience could have been taken to the end with some local food trial
