Very good lecture about the discovery of early humans by the Leakeys, as we looked over the site. Thrilling to be at this site of archeological history.

“Where we all started.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Extremely interesting area with fantastic views over the gorge. The museum was very informative with lots of skulls of extinct animals and early man.We would have liked a longer time here.and if possible have a trip into the gorge but we weren't given the chance.

“This is where it all began!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

What an amazing place to visit. To be where the Leakey's discovered the homo sapiens skull and to see the plaque indicating the location was really special. The views from above of the gorge large fabulous. Be sure to have someone ( we had a professor from Arusha) explain the importance of this discovery and the actual composition of the Gorge. The museum itself is interesting albeit a little neglected. Nonetheless, it is the place and the story that are of significance here.

“the cradle of civilization”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

You can not help but be in awe just standing someplace in the great rift valley of Tanzania, Africa. This is where the human race had its beginnings...this is a place that people from all over the world can call 'home'.

“To see the site of the 'cradle of civilization' give pause”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

The site had a very interesting museum with good overview of the history of exploration in the area. The 20 minute presentation with the gorge in the background was very good. A must see in Tanzania
