The rooms on the rocky outcrop overlooking the Seregetti are large and very nice. They are quite hot though. The restaurant has a nice view to.
That is about the only good thing I can say, nice view.
There was no African magic. We would have walked back to the lodge at the Mara if we could. Mbalagetti management seem to be the problem.
The staff are lovely but you can see they are not treated well. Instead of having good friendly service the wait staff as an example seem instructed to serve and retreat to stand against the wall.
The pervasive atmosphere was unfriendly. Their was a European lady manager who every night at dinner asked "how was your meal " and then "and the service" ? Goodness me, anyone will send a meal back or complain about a meal. Is that really the only thing these people can ask? In other properties we had fantastic people who asked how our Safari had been and what we had seen. Their was genuine, superb and caring hospitality all over Africa but not here. They seem to think that 5 star means you have to be stuffy and unfriendly. The ownder came to stay when I was there and throughout an entire dinner service he did not so much as look at any of the waiters that served his table. When I paid my extras account at the end of a 3 night stay not one word was spoken to me. Choose something where you will get the wonderfull warm African hospitality. These people dont know that when you empower employees and encourage them to enjoy the job you get a better outcome.
