I decided to stay a night in Moshi as my father had worked there for a year in the early noughties. Moshi is a charming town and a nice break from the hustle and bustle that is Arusha, plus a great place to do some shopping (iCurio recommended...). Ameg Lodge is just out of town, only 4000 sch cab-ride. It has limited views of Kili mountain. The rooms are adequate definitely, with hot water and aircon, but use the fly spray to spray the room before bed as the mossie-nets gape! The gardens are immaculate and it has a pool and a good gym. Wifi is stronger in the public areas but I still received it intermittently in my room. Happy, one of the managers, is wonderful and will go out of her way to help. The food didn't blow me away to be honest (the chilli paneer starter excluded as this was marvellous) and would suggest getting half-board (ie no dinner) and take advantage of other restaurants in town which would be better value. Perhaps review/compare other lodges in the area first too. All in all not a bad place to stay due to pool/gym, but avoid the restaurant.
