Great little hotel in a non-touristy area of Dar Es Salaam, it isn't the most glamorous place in the world, but the staff were friendly, the rooms were very basic but clean. Our rooms each had a little TV, a double bed, a fridge, desk and a chair. There were also en suites to our rooms which were clean and consisted of a shower, sink and toilet. Toilet rolls and soap were provided by the hotel. It's not the nicest looking hotel, and the rooms did not look particularly well maintained, as a lot of them could do with some renovation (a lick of paint here and there, and maybe some new tiles in the bathroom). However, what it lacked in prettiness, it made up for in comfort, the bed especially has to be the most comfortable bed I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping on. For only 20,000TSH a night (roughly £8) it was pretty brilliant. The area isn't the nicest but not too far from the airport and a short ride from city centre. There is a Barclays bank across the road and an exchange bureau a few seconds away from that, and the kariakoo market is a very short walk away. The restaurant at the bottom of the restaurant looked great and seemed to be very popular amongst the locals, unfortunately I never had the pleasure of trying the food. In terms of looks wise, it does not score highly, and as a hotel it doesn't offer much in terms of room service but a fantastic bed, clean rooms, clean bathrooms, a good location and amazing value more then make up for the other shortcomings.
