We stumbled upon this museum on a hot and steamy Sunday afternoon. It was our first day in Dar (we arrived the night before) and did not realize that the city shut down on Sundays. By the time we found this museum, we were hot, tired, and very thirsty. We were willing to pay the entrance fee just to get access to some drinking water!
After we got our water, we enjoyed the exhibits. We probably spent about 90 mins here. The cafe wasn't serving food, so I can't comment it.
The museum provides a good understanding of the history of Tanzania and some great archaeological information as well.
