“So Good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

Sala Thai has consistently tasty food and the service is fast and friendly: an unheard of combo in Dar. The owner and staff are awesome and they will make any dish as mild or spicy as you wish; just ask.

“Nice setting. Average food. Half filled dished, watery soup, stingy on fish or meat dishes.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

Ok for quick light lunch if you don't want yo have heavy meal you are at the right address, since they serve half portions lean on fillings. Every time a disappointment.

“Lovely Thai food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

This is small cozy restaurant tucked inside the oysterbay shopping centre. Fantastic food, quick, efficient service. We had Tomyom Soup & a stir fried chicken dish with rice. Anything you choose from the menu comes with rice or noodles plus a soft drink. 1 price for all items 9000/- ( approx $6). Open mondays-saturdays until 8pm. Quiter in the evenings but they are busy during lunch time. Try it, you will love it.

“Great quick and tasty food in Dar es Salaam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

Sala Thai is tucked away in a corner of the Oyster Bay shopping centre just opposite Coco Beach. Its a great place for a fast lunch, tasty Thai food and good value- first world urban prices apply here rather than rip off expat prices. The service is prompt and efficient and the food is pretty good. I recommend the hot and spicy soups. Tables are in a shady covered courtyard.

“Fresh and tasty, but not truly Thai taste”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

I really like the lady who owns the place. They use all fresh ingredients and the food is OK. If you are a fan of Thai food as I am, then you will likely be disappointed. The food is rather bland. Perhaps they are afraid that Tanzanians wouldn't be able to handle the spice level of real Thai food. The prices are great compared to other places, but you should go to Thai Village (also on the penninsula) if you want more authentic flavors. You will pay double at Thai Village.
