An English pub ......away from home. A regular haunt for many expats, a good place to meet, drink and eat.
Food and service is good, prices very reasonable, I've never been disappointed and it has no equal in Dar - a visit is highly recommended.

G & D is a PUB - point! English menu with large portions. Wide selections of beers. 100% Pub atmosphere, can get crowded, but what is the point, walk on the beach if you want space. Good service and the patrons are forever overseeing.
This was the first time I visited on my last trip. And I had been missing good meals and pint all these years. The food is excellent. The service is even better. And the prices are fantastic. This will be a regular stop on my future trips. And everything is Tourist Safe!!!!!
Guess you must be English to like it. I am not so I have a bit of a problem with this noisy smoky place. Food is moderate but compared to other restaurants with the same quality on the upper end.
Since the close of 'Irish pub' i guess this is one of the few remaining decent pubs in Dar. Excellent selection of drinks, bit hard to see with the multitude of bar staff blocking the veiw, but at least you get served quicker than a boozer back home. If you've just come from the UK you'll love it, because its just like an English pub but slightly cheaper.
