“close to Tanzanite executive suites”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

It was an oasis as apart from restaurants in hotels, we did not see any close to our hotel. Food was very reasonably priced and seemed to be frequented by locals as well as tourists. We had fish, rice and coconut sauce which was cooked really well. People in restaurant were very friendly and chatty.

“Quick easy food, not flash”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We are not picky people by any means but did not really enjoy the food here. The burger was ok, salads looked quite average and ordering a pizza was a mistake. It was soggy and fairly average in taste but also had some form of grit which probably wasn't meant to be in food.

The service was ok but nothing flash. If you are after something quick and easy it's passable but don't get your hopes up.

“Get there early”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

Lots of choice at this place, if you can get their early. The earlier you are, the fresher the food and the better the service. Place can get packed and certain dishes don't turn over as quickly so I highly recommend stopping by before the rush.

“NIce pizza's, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

I went to Chef a few times while I was in Dar. they are friendly and have great, fast service. The food was nice (western and Tanzanian) and huge portions. I even got a takeaway pizza one night and it was very good. Fair price and close to budget hotels so convenient for dinner. Annoyingly they weren't open during the day during Ramadan but back in business now as far as I know!
