“Half price during Ramadan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

This hotel offers a good location (10 minute walk to Place de France and Boulevard Pasteur, the centre of the nouvelle ville) and a good breakfast: fresh fruit, amazing morocan crêpe made by a woman and a lot of pastry.
I stayed in Tanger during the Ramadan (arrived at 18 August) so I was offered a half percent discount on the stay, reservation made on e-booking.

Rooms are clean and comfy, lobby has a bar with alcoholic beverage and a restaurant (normally working during the Ramadan season, while most of the restaurants are closed - besides the amazing Al-Andaluz Patisserie).

First impressions were good because the reception area looked super. The room was adequite but the bathroom needed repairs.A catalogue of things mising or wrong would take too long to list. The food however was ok. It was in my view a good job we only stopped there one night.I would certainly not stay in this hotel again out of choice.

Big mees at the reception, stinky room, poor breakfast. Rack rates are really high, but if you reserve via booking.com or something prices are better. They don't have any computer at the reception so print your voucher before you check-in. During breakfast there is live cooking so you can order scrambled egss or omelette and these things are only only which you can eat. Swiming pool is quite nice and depth is around 3 m so you can easily jump:)

Room Tip: hotel for backpackers but prices for vips:)

We were only here for one night, with a party of 20+ but wish it had been longer - would go back if ever in the area. Not much to look at from outside but absolutely beautiful in reception area and wonderful large garden - dining room opens on to it. Room was fine, bathroom a bit stark but very clean and a good shower and towels. Slept well, comfy bed (always take own pillows) Dinner was amazing and a wonderful intro to Moroccan cuisine - (pity the other hotels did not live up to this one!) Lots of choice, very nice staff, good experience. Breakfast also fantastic with lovely staff and fresh produce and lots of choice again. Wished we had just stayed here instead of doing the trip!

Room Tip: We had a corner room so quiet and also a bathroom window.

I knew about this place from a coleague who said it was not a nice place but I had no choice as i couldnt find another bed for the night , as it happens i stayed a week and found it not bad. The front desk receptionist was a bit frosty at first but i managed to get a smile out of her ofter a couple of days. The hotel is situated in the city centre the rooms are of a good size with fridge , tv, en suite and mine had a big balcony overlooking the small gardens and pool. The gardens are very tidy with a range of flowers trees and shrubs. The pool is a good size with a full time lifeguard and an old bloke who spent all day doing press ups infront of all the young girls (mate, pack it in you look stupid!) Breakfast was the usual cold meats and croissants but ok. Evening dining was limited but the food on offer was good. At the time of my stay there were a wide range of people staying mainly for a couple of days away from their Spanish holiday. The bar area was well set out with a small bar and two people taking turns to serve so there was never a long wait. All in all I like this hotel and would stay again.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view

I initially hated the place as it seems very run down and dilapidated and the staff are unfriendly to the point of being rude. The room had also definitely seem better days with a battered blind and a weird door with a broken lock connecting to the room next door for some reason. But the bed was comfortable, the television and the Wi-Fi worked and trying to make the girl on reception smile became a game. The breakfast was also quite reasonable.
Not close to the medina or the train station or anything really.

We came to Tangiers as a short expedition from southern Spain. I booked the hotel online, but as I didn´t print the booking (iphones don´t print...) and they don´t have a computer(!) they didn´t have any record when we tried to check in. Despite the woman behind the desk´s apparent reluctance to help us, the large hotel was nowhere near capacity and we got a room anyway. The room its self was tired. While it did have some Moroccan charm, it clearly had not been updated in decades. The toilet was also problematic - it flowed the whole time we were there. We found something else for our next night.
