The room we chose on the Internet advertised "Sea View." What we got was a view of the pool and behind it a constructions site. We asked for what we paid for and they said they could not change it.
The room was very hot and the porter immediately turned the AC control as low as it would go. But it never did get cool enough in the 2 days we stayed there.
The first night we wanted to eat in the hotel restaurant so I went to check it out and look at the menu. But they did not have a menu. Could not believe a hotel that claims to be 5 star has no menu. We went out instead and walked two miles looking for something decent but what we did find were smoking cafes full of men. Not a woman in sight and certainly not what my wife had in mind. Finally we found a small cafeteria that was cheap but not the best quality.
Next night we decided to stay in the hotel with or without a menu. The meal was not bad although VERY overpriced. The only clients were 3 European couples and us. Would you believe they had an Arabic Crooner to entertain us? He was terrible and we all got out as fast as we could finish eating.
They advertised WiFi in the lobby area. I tried at least 8 times and was never able to get through. I had to wait until Marrakesh to go on-line. When anyone complained about no WiFi the staff just shrugged their shoulders. There was absolutely no accountability. Once they had your credit card you could get no attention at all. They had a safe in the room. Please see my photo of the safe. I'm in my 70s and not in the best of health but I could have put this safe in a suitcase and walked through the lobby with it. Some security?
One day we went to LaTangerina and spent a pleasant hour with the owner, Farida, who was very sweet and outgoing. We would stay there if we ever went back. No AC but you would not need it. At the top of the souk it has a perfect location and a constant cool breeze.
