We stayed at Dar Jand for three nights in May. The owners, Janet and Andrew were welcoming and kind, and made our stay in Tangier very memorable. Andrew took us for an informative orientation walk in the medina, which made getting around very easy. We felt very much at home during our stay at Dar Jand. Tangier is often passed over by tourists, but our three days with Janet and Andrew made us realize what an interesting city it is – particularly its unique history as an ‘international zone’ in the 40s and 50s. Janet and Andrew can set up a nice guided tour of the medina, though it is hardly necessary, as it is easy to explore on your own – especially with the benefit of their insight and years of experience.
Tangier being the first stop in Morocco, since we crossed over from Alzegiras on a ferry, it was nice to get insight into the local life from expatriates living there for several years.
We can’t recommend Dar Jand enough. It’s a wonderful place.
