“Nice riad in the medina”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Stayed there for 5 nights. Well located: a few steps from the river and the Kasbah, a few minutes away, by foot, from the other side of the medina and the town. Rooms are nice yet very dark, at least on the first floor. It is a riad after all: small and dark but intimate. Breakfast was ok, nothing exceptional at all. Avoid the yellow room on the lef on the first floor as it is like sleeping in the breakfast room (noise) and the staff will most likely keep youa awake all night by talking to each other in their own room (low voices were used but still...). That should not keep you away from this riad though as other rooms are fine. Too bad the terrasse is not better taken advantage of: for breakfast for example. In the end, a decent place, moderately priced, in the heart of the medina.

The Dar is an old house renewed but still having the same old moroccon design, have its own culture, very very clean and very calm where u just really feel home, staff were so nice and helpful, food was just amazing.. internet so good and fast, location is amazing in the old city which what made morocco special country to visit, them old area's are so special and got character,,,...just a 5 mns walk from the sea side,,,, very close to the new area called la ville nearly 2 /euros by Taxi... a lot of different markets around the hotel ( DAR)... really is one of the best places i ever been to,,, Dar Aida and Dar Alia both are together as I stayed in both of them for few days and my family came for the last night to stay with me, they all loved the place.

We stayed two nights here in April and we were very impressed with the accommodation. It takes a bit of finding down the streets of the medina (the map on the website isn't too useful) but once there it was peaceful and well kept. Majid warmly welcomed us to his house and let us settle in our own time.

Our room was on the bottom floor, very clean and with en suite. Breakfast was included and was a traditional filling Moroccan spread, delicious! Wifi is also available throughout the place. We didn't take advantage of the roof terrace, but I'm sure we would have if we were staying a few days longer.

Great location to feel like you're in the medina but not on the main streets. Recommend for anyone looking for something traditional and not in the ville nouvelle. Probably good value for Rabat, but not the cheapest in Morocco we found.

Room Tip: We were in the Alaimouna room that was on the bottom floor. Clean room with en suite (shower, toilet...

we styed at this riad a week ago for one night. the place is clean, elegant and pretty. staff is really helpful and the breakfast was nice. during the day not many staff members are there to hlp you with directions and suggestion, as we arrived and woke up early we id not have much contacts in the riad, even ith guests. I would defineteky reccomand thislovely place, only down side: not easy to find but local were really helpful and took us to the door without asking the usual marrocan tip!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Riad. Nicely situated in the heart of the medina of Rabat, it had the charm and the character we were looking for. It is not fancy, but it was comfortable, offered a nice breakfast on their lovely rooftop terrace, and was convenient to shopping, the Kasbah, and most of the attractions if you don't mind walking a bit. I would advise taking the largest of the suites. It is very private, multi leveled, and has a window looking out into the medina. Expect to be woken up at 5 am for morning prayer. The sound carries throughout the city. I found it an interesting experience. There is no air conditioning, but we found it comfortable at night. The court yard in the centre of the Riad is really beautiful. The upstairs roof top deck has a great view of the medina. The room and bathroom was clean and beautifully decorated with traditional Moroccan style.
